Whenever you look at any opportunity there are a few key areas to consider….
The Company: Is this a company that is just here today and gone tomorrow? Did it just get started and if so do you want to be the guinea pig to build it? Who’s leading the company?
Credibility of the Company: Can they proove what they say about themselves with third party validation and credible documentation? What type of third party validation exists…I’m not talking about the opinions of your friends and family they won’t know how to evaluate a business opportunity especially if they believe in the idea of employment rather than financial empowerment through business ownership. I’m talking about FORBES, FORTUNE, MONEY, USA TODAY, any stock exchange, neutral partys in the industry…what have they said or what are they saying?
The Product or Service: Is this something good great or just ok. Is it something you believe in? Would you rather sell juice or JUSTICE? Lotion or airline tickets?
The Need in the Marketplace: Is it better to sell something that the market wants, needs or absolutely has to have. For example…society REALLY didn’t need or have to have a pet rock. But society did have to have computers…there was no going back. That’s called a paradigm shift.
The Compensation Plan: Be careful here. Consider how you will be paid and the history of the company paying other people. Most people look at business opportunities with the mind of a consumer or an employee. Network marketing requires you to look with the mind of a millionaire or billionaire. Where as your cousin Ray who has worked all his life will look at the compensation plan (business model) of a network marketing company and call it a pyramid scam Robert Kiosaki will look at the same information and call it leveraged income, a way to wealth or “The best compensation plan I have ever seen.”

Well, are you looking for direct sales, like running your own business, or are you looking to work for someone else, like data entry or something. There are lots of different companies out there accepting reps to do direct sales…just make sure it is something you are willing to do, and a product you would buy yourself. Also, be careful….some have quota’s you have to meet each month or quarter. Some have huge and expensive kits to buy. I myself have joined only ones that are little to no cost to join, and have little to no qouta’s. I am a work at home mother of 3, and don’t have the time or energy to put 100% towards my business’s…but I like to have them handy when I feel like working!

I agree with Kevrigger…there is so much junk floating around out there, it’s hard to tell what’s a scam.
