Turn Lemons into Lemonade
I get a lot of questions from about how I got started with Internet Marketing and what sorts of things did I read and buy, what tools did I use and on and on. Well I am going to give you a few little hints about me and the strategy I use to be successful on the Internet. I am also going to share some of the pitfalls that I fell into along the way in an effort to help you avoid them.
Today’s post is about finding my motivation and setting a goal. I urge you to do the same in your life.
Find out what is going to Motivate you. Write it down. Look at it everyday.
I started Marketing on the Internet about 15 years ago. Before doing so, I had a good job and made a considerable income. I lived in Southern California, in a nice house with a pool and two cars in the garage. For all intents and purposes I was happy with how I was doing and from the surface, there should have been no reason to change what I was doing in my life. Unfortunately… I still was not happy. I don’t mean not happy in that I wasn’t making enough or that I didn’t have enough toys, but I was unhappy working for someone else. It certainly didn’t help matters that I was working for someone that I did not like, respect or trust as a person. The job was rather high stress and caused me to be away from home way too much. The worst moment of my life was when I was laid off with little warning. That was it! That was the day I changed my life. And it is still the one single most motivating factor that keeps me doing what I do. I wanted freedom. I wanted to spend my time with my family. I wanted to do what I wanted to do, and when I wanted to do it.
I wanted a proven online home business and set out to make it happen. That was my motivation.
Establish a Goal. Write it down. Work toward it every single day at every available moment.
There was a huge learning curve I was going to have to go through. I was already in a technical field as a Program Manager for the company where I was working, so I had some pretty good technical skills. But converting that to a Marketing or internet based business arena was going to take some work. So I set some goals and gave myself some pretty tight timelines while trying to be as realistic as I could. My first goal was to have my own website up on the internet within a month. I wrote it down and pasted it on my computer monitor. Now I had my Motivation and my Goal and I had them staring me in the face every day.
I knew I would have an established online business that I could from home to replace the income I was no longer slaving away for someone else to earn.
I am doing it, so can you.
To your success…The Zat 1…
